General Information
We take the protection and security of your personal data very seriously. This website stores and processes data exclusively in accordance with applicable data protection law. As a user of this website, you consent to the processing of data as set out in this statement. No data will be passed on to third parties without your express consent. However, there are cases in which we are obliged to pass on personal data to third parties, namely the relevant authorities. This may be the case during criminal investigations.
This privacy policy applies only to the PCCL website, for which we are responsible. Should you be redirected to other sites via links on our page, we ask you to check the privacy policy on the respective other website. Your personal data (e.g. title, name, address, email address) is processed by us in accordance with data protection law and protected accordingly. We therefore do not use any non-technical cookies and do not process data via US service providers such as Google or similar. Nevertheless, we must point out that it is not possible to provide complete protection of data against unauthorised access by third parties.
Data subject rights (CHAPTER III GDPR)
As a data subject, you have extensive rights under data protection law. As a data subject, you are entitled to the following rights: the right to access personal data concerning you, to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing, withdrawal of consent, and the right to data portability. Should you have any further questions in this regard, please contact the PCCL Legal Department. The Legal Department will assist you in exercising your rights.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority if you believe your rights have been infringed (Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna; telephone: +43 1 52 152-0, email:dsb@dsb.gv.at).
Types of data processing & legal bases for processing
The legal bases for the lawful processing of personal data are derived from Article 6(1) of the GDPR and are explained below with regard to the individual data processing operations.
In general, statutory retention obligations and/or pre-contractual and contractual obligations, e.g. towards negotiating parties and contractual partners, constitute a basis under Article 6(1)(b) and (c) of the GDPR for processing personal data. For further information on (pre-)contractual data processing, please refer to our Terms and Conditions (https://www.pccl.at/en/contact/terms-and-conditions.html).
With regard to the processing of our employees’ personal data, the legal bases for the individual data processing operations are, on the one hand, their consent, as well as contractual obligations, as well as statutory obligations arising from current labour and social legislation, and a legitimate interest (in accordance with Article 6(1)(a), (b), (c) and (f) of the GDPR).
We process data from applicants (in accordance with Article 6(1)(a), (b), (c) and (f) of the GDPR) on the basis of any consent given, as well as on the basis of legal requirements, on the basis of a legitimate interest, and on the basis of pre-contractual obligations.
Furthermore, the PCCL has a legitimate interest in operating a website and users have a legitimate interest in visiting this website in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
Contact enquiries via email/contact form
If you contact us voluntarily via email or the contact form, you are thereby providing us with personal data. Only the following data is processed via the contact form: first name, surname, email address, message text, and the date and time of submission. To protect against automated spam submissions, a honeypot field invisible to users is also used (positioned outside the visible page area via CSS); if a bot fills in this field, the submission is rejected on the server side. The form is protected against cross-site request forgery by hidden TYPO3 security tokens. The data is transmitted to the web server via an encrypted HTTPS/TLS connection and forwarded internally by email to the relevant department; it is not stored permanently in a database. Neither Google reCAPTCHA nor any other third-party captcha is used on the website.
The data will be deleted as soon as your enquiry has been fully processed, provided that no pre-contractual or contractual relationship has been established and no statutory retention periods prevent the deletion (in accordance with Article 6(1)(b), (c) and (f) of the GDPR).
Publication of employee data and images (videos/photographs) of employees
Photographs/Videos, contact details and quotes from individual employees are published in the Careers section, on the ‘Management & Structure’ and ‘Company’ pages, and in press releases.
The publication of employees’ professional contact details is carried out in accordance with Article 6(1)(b) and (f) of the GDPR to facilitate standard business communication.
The publication of photographs and quotes from employees is based on consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR in conjunction with Section 78 of the Austrian Urheberrechtsgesetz (UrhG). This consent may be withdrawn at any time by contacting the Legal Department; in this case, the relevant content will be removed from the website immediately.
Submission of applications via our website
You may voluntarily submit your application to us either by email (jobs@pccl.at) or using our integrated application form on the website. We process the personal data you submit in this way (e.g. name, address, telephone number, CV, profession & qualifications and interests, email address, etc.) in order to process your application accordingly and to comply with legal requirements (pursuant to Article 6(1)(c) and (f) of the GDPR). In the case of a speculative application and where consent to data processing has been given, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR is the applicable legal basis for data processing.
Please note that sending unencrypted emails may involve security risks. For the transmission of particularly sensitive data, we recommend sending it by post to our address in Leoben. You may contact us at any time regarding this, and we will inform you about data processing during the application process. The following retention periods apply to applicant data:
For unsolicited applications not in response to a job advertisement by the PCCL: Immediate deletion of data (exception: with written consent, processing possible for up to 6 months).
For applications in response to a job vacancy advertised by the PCCL, a retention period of 6 months also applies in accordance with Sections 12 and 15 of the GlBG;
Start of the period: from the date on which the rejection was received or 7 months from receipt of the application.

If you are registered as a partner on our information email distribution list, we will only process your email address with your consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. We will only send you information emails via the ‘Rapidmail’ distribution list if you have agreed and continue to agree to receive these emails. We do not collect any further data from you. Cookies & digital content on external servers
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (PC, mobile phone, tablet) and saved by your browser. Cookies do not cause any damage to your device and serve to make the website easier to use.
You can also set your browser to notify you about cookies or to block them.
There are several types of cookies
We use cookies to improve the use of our website and its functionality. These cookies are known as “technical cookies”.
We do not use cookies to analyse user behaviour. We therefore do not use “non-technical cookies”.
A further distinction is made between “first-party cookies” and “third-party cookies”.
First-party cookies are set by the website the user is currently browsing, i.e. our website www.pccl.at. These first-party cookies are not accessible across domains by browsers. We use only one first-party cookie.
A third-party cookie is set by a third party, i.e. not by the website you are currently visiting. We do not use any third-party cookies.
No cookies are currently set in the public area of the website; neither first-party nor third-party cookies. The technically necessary session cookie fe_typo_user is only used when PCCL employees log in to TYPO3.
As no cookies requiring consent (in particular no marketing or analytics cookies) are used, consent is not required under Section 165(3) of the TKG 2021 or Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
We have therefore deliberately chosen not to use a cookie banner.
Technical and Organisational Measures
The PCCL implements all necessary technical and organisational security measures to protect users’ data from unauthorised access by third parties. All data is stored on this website’s server or on the servers of our service providers, with whom, where necessary, contracts for data processing pursuant to Article 28 of the GDPR and contracts for joint controllership pursuant to Article 26 of the GDPR have been concluded following appropriate vetting.
Data processing on behalf of the controller (Article 28 GDPR)
In connection with the operation of this website, we use the following data processors:
Web development, design and technical maintenance of the TYPO3 system: Rubikon Werbeagentur GmbH (www.rubikon.at).
Web hosting of the live website: ALL-INKL.COM - Neue Medien Münnich (https://all-inkl.com/).
Sending of information emails: rapidmail GmbH, Augustinerplatz 2, 79098 Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany (already mentioned in the ‘Information emails’ section).
Data processing agreements in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR are in place with all data processors. No data is transferred to third countries within the scope of this data processing.
SSL encryption
Data transfers are carried out by the PCCL using the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protocol. In this case, this software encrypts all transmitted information. PCCL uses this SSL encryption on its website for security and to protect confidential content. You can recognise the encrypted connection by the fact that the browser’s address bar changes from “http://” to “https://”, as well as by the padlock symbol. Thanks to SSL encryption, data being transmitted cannot be read by third parties.
Our website is currently hosted on a server provided by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich (https://all-inkl.com/).
When you visit the PCCL website, the browser running on your device automatically sends information to the server on which our website is hosted.
This log file information is automatically deleted after 7 days at the latest. Any further storage takes place exclusively where this is necessary to investigate a specific security-related incident (e.g. an attempted attack) (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
No data transfer to third countries
Your personal data will not be transferred to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. The website deliberately does not incorporate any services from US providers: there is no Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager, no Google Fonts or Google Maps, no Facebook Pixel or embedded YouTube videos or similar content. All fonts, images and scripts are delivered exclusively from the PCCL website server.
No automated decision-making & no profiling
No decision based solely on automated processing – including profiling – within the meaning of Article 22 of the GDPR, which produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you, takes place on this website.
If you have any questions, please contact the PCCL Legal Department via legal@pccl.at .
