As part of the Long Night of Research 2026 (#LNF26) on April 24, 2026, PCCL attracted exceptionally high visitor interest. It was particularly encouraging to see so many families attending, with parents and children exploring the world of modern polymers together with curiosity and enthusiasm.
Across two locations, PCCL presented seven interactive experiments, showcasing the breadth of current research activities. Highlights included digital technologies for the customized design of 3D-printed orthotic supports, innovative approaches for early detection of safety risks in electric vehicle battery systems, and sustainable methods for upgrading plastic waste. Visitors also gained insights into the fundamentals of polymer science, the structure of photovoltaic modules, and advanced robotics solutions.
A special highlight was the visit of MUL-Rector Peter Moser, who was welcomed by Managing Director Elisabeth Ladstätter and Scientific Director Sandra Schlögl.
