The John Neal Insulation Award of the European Electrical Insulation Manufacturers (EEIM) honors students for outstanding research in the field of electrical insulation materials and systems.

In 2019, the works of two master students were awarded by the EEIM. Our colleague Dipl.-Ing. Sarah Rendl received the award for her master thesis 'Low-Loss Factor Nanocomposites Containing Dispersed or Covalently Attached Nanoparticles', which she compiled in the K-Project PolyTherm: Polymers for Thermally Demanding Applications. Her work describes the dielectric performance of nanocomposites with special consideration of the aspect if nanofillers were only compounded into the polymer matrices or covalently attached to them.
