Date: Spring 2021

Location: Erzherzog-Johann-Auditorium, Montanuniversität Leoben, Franz-Josef-Straße 18, A-8700 Leoben

The golden anniversary will be appropriately celebrated on the 29th Leoben-Conference on Polymer Engineering & Science. Participants can look forward to a fulminate event, with retrospectives on a 50-year past as well as prospects for a challenging but also promising future.

Since its beginnings in the 1970s, the Department of Polymer Engineering and Science at the Montanuniversität Leoben has been following the trends in research and science. It has grown from two institutes into a strong network of six chairs and has a strong partner in the Polymer Competence Center Leoben for more than 15 years.

"Never before the trends in polymer sciences have changed more rapidly and fundamentally than in these days, innovation and disruption are the words of the moment. This rapid change brings challenges for research institutes and industrial companies, but also incredible opportunities."
Walter Friesenbichler, Head of the Chair of Injection Moulding of Polymers

This tension between opportunities and challenges will be discussed on the basis of three main themes. The Department of Plastics Technology and the PCCL have dedicated their research to these topics:

   - Smart Production - Sustainability and Polymers - Additive Manufacturing -

2021 for the first time: The 29th Leoben Polymer Colloquium will be held entirely in English for the first time.

The audience can expect an exciting, international specialist programme with contributions from industry and science, as well as an exhibition at which renowned companies present their products and services.
