Dr. Dieter P. Gruber accepted a lecture invitation to ETH Zurich on June 4th, 2015.
The annual meeting of the eRamp project from April 16th to April 17th 2015 took place in Unterpremstätten. The eRamp Project is coordinated by Infineon AG and bundles the competences of 26 partners in the field of microelectronics.
The standing partner SKF visited the PCCL in February 2015. In addition to scientific presentations on current successful project collaboration with SKF the top-ranking delegation around Bernd Stephan (Senior Vice President Group Technology Development), Thomas Fröst (Director Business Segment and Strategic Accounts), Dan Reed (SKF President Regional Sales & Services North America) and Thomas Schwarz (Managing Director SKF Sealing Solutions Austria GmbH) got a comprehensive insight into the bundled plastics expertise in Leoben.
The EMN Meetings (Energy – Materials – Nanotechnology) developed from a series of small workshops. By now, the EMN Meetings include five annual conferences: EMN Fall (Orlando FL), EMN Spring (Las Vegas NV), EMN Summer (Cancun MX), EMN East (Beijing CN), and EMN Open (Chengdu CN).
PCCL participates in the EU-funded project ““Poly4EmI – Polymeric Materials for Emerging Industries“, which deals on the one hand side with the potential of biopolymers and on the other innovative policy for cluster collaboration are tested.
Frank Wiesbrock (Polymer Competence Center Leoben) will support the journal "polymers" as a member of the Editorial Board. With an impact factor of 1.684 this mdpi journal is the highest ranked open-access journal in the category "polymer science".
The PolyComp annual meeting on November 22nd 2013 had raised a pleasingly high level of interest among the partners: 35 participants of the K-project PolyComp met in Leoben to discuss the organization of the PolyComp network, the status of the individual PolyComp projects, and the continuation of the successful cooperation from 2014.
In the center of the 22th Leobener Polymer Conference, which was organized of the Polymer Competence Center Leoben GmbH (PCCL) and the Department of Polymer Engineering, University of Leoben, was "Surfaces and Interfaces in polymer technology", where a broad arc from scientific research to trends and technology developments in the international industry is stretched and aspects of polymer chemistry, plastics and composite materials technology are considered.
The Foreign Trade Center Paris and Arge Offset/Industrial Cooperation & Aviation of the Austrian Economic Chambers, invited Mrs. Maud Chavanis, EADS Eurocopter, to the PCCL.
